Jakarta, March 11 (Antara) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is scheduled to receive Prabowo Subianto, chief patron of the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Gerindra) at 3.30 pm on Monday.
The schedule is included in the presidential agenda but it is not clear the subject that the two sides will discuss.
Deputy Chairman of Gerindra Fadli Zon said Prabowo will meet the president at the invitation of the head of state. Fadli said he is to accompany Prabowo during the meeting.
According to Fadli, the invitation of the president was dispatched by Minister/State Secretary Sudi Silalahi on Saturday, March 9, 2013.
He said that he did not know the agenda of their talks, expressing his appreciation of the president's invitation.
Fadli said in politics a friendship meeting was an important thing and could develop more political maturity.
Prabowo is also general chairman of the Indonesian Martial Arts Association (IPSI), general chairman of the Indonesian Farmers Association and general chairman of the All Indonesian Traditional Market Traders Association (APPSI).
He has been mentioned to be nominated as the presidential hopeful of Gerindra in the coming presidential race in 2014.
In 2009, Prabowo was a vice presidential candidate who paired up with Megawati Soekarnoputri, the presidential candidate of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P).
In the 2009 presidential race, the Megawati-Prabowo pair was defeated by Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono - Boediono presidential and vice presidential aspirants in the elections organized on July 8, 2009.
