Simalungun (Antaranews Sumut) - Land transportation to the marine tourism attraction of Lake Toba from the intersection of Pintu Angin to the Tigaras jetty, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra, is in good condition.

"Road access for visitors is smooth, but there is only one point that needs to be improved due to the landslide," Ponirin, 46, a resident of Embong Village, Pane Sub-district, Simalungun District, noted.

Peddlers in Samosir District, who usually use the Tigaras-Simanindo route, stated that the road access is smooth, and the travel time is shorter.

The seven-kilometer road is in good condition. Motorcyclists also incur reduced costs to repair their vehicles following an improvement in the road condition.

"Damaged roads could have an impact in terms of money being spent on motorcycles and fuel," he pointed out.

Syahrial, 32, a resident of Pematangsiantar City, expressed hope that the Simalungun district government would focus on improving road connectivity to Tigaras.

The area can be accessed through the Aek Nauli Girsang Sipangan Bolon intersection, Purba intersection, Raya, and Sidamanik.

"The worst access is from the Sidamanik intersection, whereas this area is also a natural tourist destination," he stated.

Road infrastructure in the region should be improved to support and boost tourist arrivals to the Lake Toba tourism destination.
