Tanjungbalai (Antaranews Sumut) - The Educational Office of Tanjungbalai City, North Sumatra Province, held 10 competitions as part of "Education Celebration" (Gebyar Pendidikan) to welcome and enliven the commemoration of the National Education Day 2018 in surrounding areas.
Tanjungbalai City Head of Education Office, Tety Juliany Siregar, stated here on Saturday that various competitions, including School Hygiene Competition, English Speech Contest, Quiz Contest, Declamation, and Volley Ball Competition, were held for kindergarten to junior high school students.
Furthermore, there are also the Band Festival, Exhibition Stand competition, Percussion Festival, Malay Dance Competition, and Children Creativity Dance Competition for kindergarten students.

"The competitions, as a vehicle for talent and interest development for students, also help gain achievements in educational field," she remarked.
Siregar stated that an opening ceremony, which will be attended by the Mayor of Tanjungbalai, will be held tonight. The ceremony will include a series of dance activities consisting of Welcome and Archipelago Dances and Musical Drama, titled "Tokeh," played by junior high school students.
"The prize-giving ceremony for the winning students and the school will be held during the closing ceremony on Monday evening (April 30), which will be enlivened by the performance of Jakarta artists, namely Rizky and Ridho," he added.
The parade will be followed by a drum band or marching band groups, involving a number of elementary school and junior high school students, and teachers of Tanjungbalai City.
