Jember, E Java, June 19 (Antara) - The hacker of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's website has been sentenced to six months in jail.
Wildan Yani Ashari (21) has been convincingly proven guilty of changing President Yudhoyono's website www.presidentsby.info into a Jemberhacker team to make the site inaccessible for two hours, chief judge of Jember's District Court in East Java, Syahrul Machmud, said in his verdict on Wednesday.
Wildan was sentenced to six months in jail minus time already served in detention and fined Rp250,000 or 15 more days in jail for failing to pay it.
The judges said Wildan alias Yayan alias MJL 007 had been proven hacking the president's website after earlier also hacking techscape.co.id and jatireja.net.
"The defendant was guilty in line with the charges made by the prosecutors of violating Article 30 of Law Number 11 of 2008 on electronic information and transactions," chief judge Machmud said.
The prosecutor has demanded 10 months in jail and a fine of Rp250,000.
In favor of the defendant the judges said that Wildan was still young, could still be led and also still wished to continue his study.
Police investigator First Inspector Grawas Sugiharto from the National Police Command's Cyber Crimes meanwhile said the police would use his expertise for the benefit of the country, educate and recruit him.
Upon the verdict, Wildan said he accepted it.(KR-FQH)
