Jakarta, May 17 (Antara) - Vice President Boediono here on Friday met with visiting South Korean former Prime Minister Kim Suk Soo to discuss ways to improve bilateral relations between Indonesia and South Korea.

"People-to-people relation between Indonesia and South Korea is getting better in line with the increasing relation in economic and political sectors between the two countries," vice president said.

Boediono also expressed appreciation towards the South Korea-Indonesia forum here on Thursday to commemorate the 40th anniversary of bilateral relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile former Prime Minister Kim Suk Soo who lead South Korea from the period of September 2002 to February 2003 praises the good relation that his country has with Indonesia.

"The purpose of my visit to Indonesia this time is to attend the South Korea-Indonesia forum held yesterday in Jakarta. The result from yesterday's forum will be beneficial in supporting the bilateral relation between Indonesia and South Korea," he said.

Also attending the Friday meeting are Chairman of Indonesia-South Korea Parliament Friendship Ahn Hong-joon, South Korea's Ambassador to Indonesia Lee Sun Jin, President of Korean Foundation Yu Hyun Seok and Professor Ahn Chung Si from Seoul National University.(SYS)
